Speech Title and Abstract
New generation surveying technology: High-efficiency factory scanning technology analysis
"With the rapid development of Industry 4.0 and high-tech industries, the demand for digitalization of existing factories is gradually increasing. However, in practice, the industry often faces the problem of lack of drawings/models, inconsistency between design and site, and re-measurement in traditional ways is quite time-consuming and laborious. Thanks to improvements in geospatial technology, users can now use SLAM (Simultaneous Localization and Mapping) LiDAR to complete 3D capture of factory space in a very short time, completely save complex factory facilities as point clouds, and reverse-build them into CAD drawings or BIM models, which significantly reducing the time and cost required for factory surveying and mapping. In addition to being able to quickly reverse-produce plant drawings, the point clouds can also be used to ensure the consistency between the drawings/model and the actual conditions on site, and even further extract the differences between the site and the model, effectively solving the severe challenges of large-scale factories in the process of digital transformation."
