Speech Title and Abstract
Development Trends of Low-GWP Refrigerant Magnetic Levitation Centrifugal Chillers
The International Energy Agency (IEA) emphasizes that "energy efficiency is currently the first fuel," and COP28 has proposed the "Doubling of Energy Efficiency + Global Cooling Pledge," advocating for a 68% reduction in air conditioning emissions by 2050. This presentation will first introduce the relationship between energy-saving, carbon reduction in air conditioning, and ESG, followed by an explanation of the refrigerant regulation timeline under the Montreal Protocol. It will also share the corresponding timeline plans in Taiwan and explain the progress in refrigerant phase-out and international development trends for chillers, which account for more than 40% of total air conditioning electricity consumption. High-efficiency magnetic levitation centrifugal chillers using low Global Warming Potential (GWP) refrigerants are considered powerful ESG tools that can achieve both energy savings and carbon reduction. Finally, the presentation will summarize the results of domestic developments and demonstrations of magnetic levitation centrifugal compressors and chillers with low-GWP refrigerants.
