Brief bio

Hsin-Mu Michael Tsai is NTU Academic Advancement Young Chair Professor in the Department of Computer Science and Information Engineering, National Taiwan University, where he is currently Deputy Vice President for Academic Affairs. He also serves as the Director of NTU IoX Center, a university-level research center focusing on building real-world solutions leveraging AI and Internet-of-Everything technologies. His research interests include vehicular networking and communications, visible light communications and positioning, intelligent transportation systems, digital learning, and using AI to solve real-world problems in these domains. Dr. Tsai was recognized by numerous awards, including Young Scholar Innovation Award from Foundation for the Advancement of Outstanding Scholarship, Taiwan, ACM Taipei Chapter’s K. T. Li Young Researcher Award, Intel Labs Distinguished Collaborative Research Award, and Intel Early Career Faculty Award (the first to receive this honor outside of North America and Europe). He was also the recipient of National Taiwan University’s Distinguished Service Award, Distinguished Teaching Award and Distinguished Academic Advisor Award.
