Earthquake Risks and Mitigation Strategies for High-Tech Manufacturing Facilities

•In recent years, the frequency of damaging earthquakes in Taiwan has continued to increase, with an apparent trend toward shallower focal depths.
•Most of the seismic mitigation measures adopted by technology manufacturing facilities after the 2016 206 earthquake proved ineffective during subsequent events, including the 0403 ( 2024), 0121 and 1227 (2025) earthquakes.
•The failure modes of earthquake-sensitive equipment have been highly consistent across these events, and the causes of damage have been well identified.
